  • October 10: Sunrise Battlefield Photo Safari. Purchase tickets online or call 877-874-2478.
  • October 10-11 Living History Programs: Columbus Day Weekend Civil War Encampment. 150th New York Infantry. Programs at the Pennsylvania Memorial. 28th Virginia Infantry. Programs at Pitzer Woods.
  • October 17-18 Living History Programs: Ohio Valley Civil War Association. Programs at the Pennsylvania Memorial. Parker's Artillery. Programs at Pitzer Woods. U.S. Sharpshooters on Little Round Top.
  • October 17: Friends of Gettysburg Fall Muster. Registration is now available online or download, complete and mail the registration form. Registrations must be received by Oct. 2.
  • October 24: An Evening with the Painting. Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center; 6 – 8:30 p.m. Tickets for this program are coming soon.
  • October 24-25 Living History Programs 12th Alabama Infantry. Programs at Pitzer Woods.
  • October 31-Nov. 1 Living History Programs: Battery F, 1st Pennsylvania Infantry. Programs at the Pennsylvania Memorial.

NOVEMBER 2009

  • November 7: John Scott Adams Seminar Series. "Wearing the Green: Hiram Berdan and His Elite Union Sharpshooters at the Battle of Gettysburg" featuring Licensed Battlefield Guide Wayne Motts. Registration for this Adams Seminar is now is now closed. Please contact Denise Warthen, Gettysburg Foundation events coordinator, to be placed on the waiting list for this seminar.
  • November 11: Community Appreciation Day for Adams County, PA. Residents (Free Admission to Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience) 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • November 19: 146th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. This annual observation with brief memorial services in the Soldiers' National Cemetery begins at 9:45 a.m., preceded by a wreath laying at 9:30 a.m. This event is sponsored by the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, Gettysburg National Military Park and the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College.
  • November 19: Unveiling of the Lincoln Sculpture. The Gettysburg Foundation will unveil a life-sized bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln, the 146th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. Read the news release about the sculpture unveiling (PDF)
  • November 20: An Evening with the Painting. Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center; 5 – 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this program are coming soon.
  • November 21: Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremonies. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Gettysburg Address anniversary. It features a parade of Civil War living history groups. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and is sponsored by the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
  • November 21: 7th Annual Remembrance Illumination Luminary candles are placed on each Civil War grave in Soldiers' National Cemetery as a testament to the sacrifices made here in 1863. For information, contact the Gettysburg Foundation at 717-338-1243. Sponsor a luminary candle or volunteer for the Illumination by downloading, completing and mailing our sponsorship and volunteer form.

DECEMBER 2009

  • December 4: An Evening with the Painting. Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center; 5 – 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this program are coming soon.
  • December 1-31: An Eisenhower Christmas. The Eisenhower home is decorated in the traditions of the Eisenhowers. Some original decorations and Christmas cards are on display. (Included in site admission.) Eisenhower National Historic Site. Call 717-338-9114 for more information.
