WHAT ARE COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAYS?

The National Park Service at Gettysburg National Military Park and the Gettysburg Foundation are committed to welcoming members of our local communities in Adams County, Pa. on four fee-free community days per year. On these days, Adams County residents enjoy free tickets for the Cyclorama, Film “A New Birth of Freedom,” and Museum Experience at the Museum and Visitor Center. The dates are announced in advance in the local news media and include: Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day and a "Back to School" day each year in late August or early September.

WHEN IS THE NEXT COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY?

The next Community Appreciation Day will be held on
Presidents Day (Monday, Feb. 15, 2010).

Upcoming 2010 dates include: "Back to School" day in late August or early September (check local media and this page for date) and Veterans Day (Thursday, Nov. 11).

HOW DO I GET TICKETS FOR THE CYCLORAMA, FILM, AND MUSEUM EXPERIENCE?

Come to the Ticketing and Reservations counter in the lobby of the Museum and Visitor Center. Local visitors should be prepared to show proof of residence, such as a driver's license.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity of previous community events, Adams County residents are encouraged to arrive early; crowds are usually lightest between 8:30-10 a.m., and tickets are available on a first-come, first-served, space-available basis. (Advance reservations are not available for Community Appreciation Day tickets, and rainchecks will not be available.) Please inquire at the ticket counter for show times and availability.
