OVERVIEW
On Friday, April 23, once you have picked up your registration packet in the lobby of the Eisenhower II Hotel, you can stop in for a visit to relax and talk with other members in our Members' Lounge, browse for merchandise in the Friends Merchandise Room, and join a special program, "Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock," a first-person presentation by John Deppen.
On Saturday, April 24, we are offering you choices from 10 programs (or 11 if you're a First Corps member), several of which are new to you. At the evening banquet and auction, you will be able to join in our traditional fun (and hard work) of raising money for our continuing work with Gettysburg National Military Park and, at the same time, have the opportunity to bid on some the unique items we offer at each event.
On Sunday, April 25, we will feature our annual March for Gettysburg, as well as the invitation-only First Corps breakfast.
This year, we're offering an exclusive Saturday tour for First Corps members. Licensed Battlefield Guide Tim Smith will be offering a program on Big Round Top in the morning and afternoon. Each tour will be limited to 45 attendees, and you must be a current First Corps member to sign up. Each First Corps member may bring three guests on this special tour. Not a First Corps member? Upgrade by e-mailing the Friends membership department or by call 717-338-1243.
Return your registration form and payment on or before the deadline of April 9, 2010. These programs fill up very fast so register early. For faster registration, register online.
Be sure to bring hiking shoes (you will be out on the field), long pants, insect repellent, drinking water, camp stools and foul-weather gear "just in case." All battlefield programs will proceed rain or shine.
Special note: Many Friends battlefield programs require the physical capacity to walk difficult battlefield terrain and are not suitable for individuals who are mobility challenged. Please keep the tour difficulty level in mind when making your selections.
