During this solemn commemoration, held annually, a lighted luminary candle is placed on the grave of each Civil War soldier in Gettysburg's Soldiers' National Cemetery. Held in conjunction with Gettysburg's Remembrance Day activities, the Remembrance Illumination has become one of the weekend's most anticipated events.
